* With new presses the screens installed should last over 10 years. Bearing and gear reducer life is also expected to be over 10 years. Maintenance costs are limited to weekly lubrication of 5 bearings and changing the gear reducer oil every 1 to 2 years.
* Operational costs are minimal due to the simplicity and slow speed of the unit. System start-up consists of starting the discharge conveyors, the screw press, and the fish feed system.
